This series is all about intentionally cultivating a hunger for God and positioning ourselves for the “more” that He has for us.
Fasting is a way of expressing our hunger for God Himself, but also a way of humbling ourselves - it is a hungry and humble posture before God, one that is open and expectant - for what only He can do.
King David found himself in a dry, parched place. He was thirsty for water. But he recognised that this physical hunger only pointed to a deeper, spiritual hunger:
A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah:
“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole being longs for you, in a parched and weary land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1 (NLT/NIV)
The truth is that in this world, there are many things that promise to satisfy the deepest longing of our soul. But the truth is that only God Himself can satisfy, and that is what we hunger for in this series.
We believe that as we unite together over the 21 days of prayer and fasting that we will know God in a deeper way than before and that we will see the miraculous power of God poured out and amazing things happen, bringing breakthrough into many peoples lives.
Join us as we go through the hunger pains for spiritual gain, as we empty our stomachs to be filled with God!

How to Fast?
We are recommending that the whole church does the ‘Daniel Fast’ for the full 3 weeks. However, some will choose to do a partial fast or a full fast. Check out the resources for more info:
ALL ABOUT PRAYER
During this time, please send in your prayer requests to: www.oceans.church/pray. Here you can also send in your ‘praise reports’ - any answers to prayer you received during this season of Hunger. We would love to hear from you!
REMEMBER TO PRAY:
PASSIONATELY.
Don’t remain indifferent, but pray from a place of deep compassion, conviction and care.
PERSISTENTLY.
Never give up! Pray until you see something happen like Elijah who prayed till he saw the raincloud coming!
PRECISELY.
Specific prayers get specific results! Write your prayers down to have a record of the miracle!
THE PROMISES.
The word of God never returns void, so pray using the power of God’s promises.
IN PARTNERSHIP.
Pray in partnership or agreement with others. There is power when we pray together!
